mouse freezing and crashing S22+ Dex

Galaxy S22
phone is plugged into a usb-c dock with an hdmi monitor and a usb keyboard/mouse combination connected

keyboard and mouse work pefectly on other machines, and seem to work well enough in samsung Dex

The issue is that frequntly the mouse pointer keeps freezing where it pauses and doesn't instantly respond to motion. It's working fine when first connected but then it starts freezing and won't stop. The pauses grow longer, then the mouse driver in the phone crashes and mouse pointer disappears. I remove the usb dongle and plug it into the other usb port to reset the mouse driver and it fixes it.... but only for a few seconds to a few minutes the the issue repeats. After all usb ports have been used like this, the mouse driver is down for the count and rebooting the phone is required to use the mouse again. Then the whole issue starts again.

Sometimes the S22+ runs for hours with no mouse issue at all before this begins, other times it occurs almost immediately after restarting phone and connecting in dex mode.

Have had exact same issue on S10 and now S22+

Makes the DEX is unusable, the way it totally ignores USER INPUT that is the phone's one and only job to respond to

How do I make this work?

@ThymeFlowsOverStones Since it has happened with both the S10 and S22+, have you tried a different USB C hub? different mouse? or even a Bluetooth mouse?

@LongHiker Hub, cables, mouse and kybd are fine with other laptops/computers.

Also, the problem seems to occur when using any app in dex, when an app window isn't open and it's just the desktop it's not freezing

@ThymeFlowsOverStones They certainly could work completely in other scenarios. It just takes a unique incompatibility with those devices in that scenario to cause the issue.

imo the mouse driver in the phone works but then crashes, requiring rebooting the phone to restart the mouse driver points me towards phone firmware issue. The 'stickiness' seems like maybe android has multiple procs battling for focus

But if there's another way, like maybe certain gear triggers the issue but other gear doesn't then what gear should I use (I'm not made of $)

currrently using j5 create JCDP392 usb-c dock and Logitec usb keyboard+mouse dongle

I'd imagine bluetooth HID drivers are different from USB HID drivers, so I can see how trying a bluetooth keyboard mouse combo might function differently.

sigh
I never had much luck trying to shop for bluetooth kbd/mouse combo like they were all overpriced and had crazy unconventional looking keyboards also
