What do you mean?  The clock and alarms look the same to me?  Can you provide a screen shot of what you see?  Are you by chance seeing the default alarm background?  You can change that to anything you want.  The alarm screen orientation will always be portrait mode.  You look at it for only a few seconds, what difference does the orientation make?

No it's the like the clock format got flipped upside down or something. It's like when you restart the phone the time or the date looks out of order and then it goes back to the regular format I guess it's called.

You don't need the colon if the hours are on one line and the minutes are on another.  Can you not tell the time without the colon?  This is what mine looks like.  Looks the same as always to me.  I have an A54 running OneUI8.0.  Try clearing the cache from the clock app.  If that doesn't do it, clear the phone's cache partition.  Was your phone restarted prior to the alarm going off?

Yeah keeps resetting to that weird format. seems to be a bug after latest update.
Not a huge issue, just more of an annoyance.

Hmm.  I'm not seeing that issue.  Perhaps it's unique to either the S23 or to your particular phone.  You can put in an error report.  What I find more annoying than any change in clock face for an alarm is that the alarm is always in portrait mode, which makes a swipe awkward when positioned in landscape on its stand.  Fortunately, I don't have to deal with it much as I only set alarms on specific, rare occasions.
