All of my photos in my gallery disappeared. I checked my trash and there are some pictures there that I have deleted, but none of the active pictures that were in my gallery on my S23 Ultra. I also reset my phone and cleared the gallery cache and they're still missing. Any other ideas how this happened?
Hello, Everyone. I can definitely understand the concern with your photos missing. I know there are some settings with the Google photo apps that if you start reaching a certain storage percentage it will automatically remove backed up photographs. That could be something that occurred here. I found this information on this here - https://support.google.com/files/answer/10862356?hl=en You may need to check with Google support to see if there’s any additional settings that could be at play here as well. As there is nothing related on the Samsung platform that would delete the photos automatically, it would have to be done by a third party application of some kind or done manually.
I have them backed up to Google Photos already in case something like this happened, but want to know why it did since they're now not just readily available on the device itself.
Same thing happened to me this morning but it also deleted the pictures and videos from my Google photos account. There's over 100gb of pictures/videos gone! Were you able to recover your photos? I have an S22 btw. Samsung care was not able to help
I had everything backed up on my Google Photos, so that wasn't an issue at least. Only my photos on the device in the Gallery disappeared which I am trying to figure out how that happened. Even the pictures in the recycling bin were still there, so it's pretty odd that the other pictures just vanished.
