You know I remember the good old days when you could go into the settings of each app and assign a ringtone. Then you know what's important and what can wait when you're away from the phone but no, let's get rid of that and just choose vibrate versus ringtone and how it will pop up on the screen. It's only 2025 why the would a user be able to choose a custom ringtone for a specific app? What's next we going to do away with three-way calls and call waiting?

Galaxy S23@Prime_Optimization You can set a notification sound for each app.
- Open phone settings
- Click on Notifications
- Click on Advanced settings
- Enable Manage notification categories for each app
- Go back to the Notifications settings
- Click on App notifications
- Click on an app that you want to configure
- Ensure that Sound and vibration is enabled.
- Click on Notification categories
- Click on a category
- If the category allows you to set a sound, you will see a "Sound" item. Click on it.
- Change the sound to what you want.

Galaxy S23Right! The instructions for how to set different notification sounds for particular apps is not possible because "Manage ..." is not one of the choices on the list.

Galaxy S23You really should investigate the settings or ask a question before just griping about not being able to do something. Granted, nowhere does Samsung explain this setting is a thing, and it is left for people to discover on their own, still no reason to come in with guns blazing. The categories were new in either Android 13 or 14 but, for some reason, Samsung decided to turn this setting off by default and not provide a hint that it existed. Subsequent updates have, at times, turned them off so users have to go back and enable them. There are plenty of posts on this issue and a simple search of the forums would have brought you to at least one of the feeds on the subject where you would have gotten the very same instructions given above by @LongHiker .

Galaxy S23So, can you tell me how to do that (select a different sound for particular notifications) when it is not possible to follow the instructions for how to set different notification sounds for particular apps is not possible because "Manage ..." is not one of the choices on the list.
