Hey, i get random automatic adjustments and/or NONE when lighting conditions change around me, i always have to adjust manually. Oddly, turning auto brightness off then on again solves the problem in that situation and time but the problems comes back after while, like automatic brightness doesn't stay on but the toggle is always switched on. Any help ?

My device is SGS23

I've found with my phone, that if I change the angle of the phone at all, then the brightness will change.

especially if it is pointed towards a window or light. just keep in mind where your phone is.

Hello, welcome to the Samsung Community. I understand your concerns on the adaptive brightness feature not working properly and I will be more than happy to help.

Try these steps below to reset the adaptive brightness:

Open the Settings app and tap on See all Apps

Select Device Health Services

Tap the Storage and Cache

Tap Manage Space

Tap on the Reset Adaptive Brightness

Tap Ok to save and confirm your selection and it will revert to the factory default settings

If this feature is still not working properly then we recommend doing a factory reset:

You have to select the sort function in the Apps screen, then toggle on "Show system apps" to get to Device Health Services. I don't have the other steps on my phone either though. Possibly just clearing the cache of this app? Unsure. 😢
