I would like to permanently disable GPS on my Galaxy S23 phone. Is that possible?
I know how to toggle location on and off. But, I want to make it so that it is permanently disabled.
Thanks!
Jeff

Galaxy S23Thanks; I have another phone which I will use for most "phone-like" activities. Having it permanently disabled would prevent me from unknowingly turning it on.

Galaxy S23If you want to prevent yourself from accidentally turning it on, go to settings/location and turn it off. Then edit your quick panel to remove the icon from the panel so that you don't tap it accidentally. Go into every app that has the location permission and remove the permission from the app. I will warn you though, that doing this (even if you do not remove the permissions), every time you go to a website or open an app that requires the permission, you will get a pop-up telling you to enable the permission. Some apps may not work at all without the permission and the GPS enabled.
So, if you have location active on your "real" phone, why do you need it off on your secondary device unless it's your burner phone? In which case, you can be tracked by your SIM and IMEI anyway.

Galaxy S23Thanks; I plan to use the Samsung phone for an app which does not use GPS. I do not plan to use the phone to browse various sites on the internet.
You do raise several good points - thanks!

Galaxy S23Why would you want to disable it? So many system functions rely on it, not the least of which is find my device. Many others such as your time zone, emergency alerts for your area, Emergency SOS and 911 services.

(I realize this is somewhat of an unusual request.)

Galaxy S23Doesn't necessarily have to be nefarious purposes. In this political climate, if you attend (or are even in the vicinity) of certain protests or if you travel, you want to take a phone as naked as possible even if you have done nothing wrong or do not intend to do anything wrong.

Galaxy S23š
I'm not planning anything nefarious, but I understand why it would look that way.
