My wife was having issues with her phone, namely the camera app failing to start, so i did a full backup to my computer with smartswitch, and did a factory reset. that didn't fix my original issue, but when i tried to restore everything, her texts wont restore. Its taking up the storage space on her phone, but nothing shows up in the app. I did have rcs turned on when i did the initial backup, and she was logged into google messages as the default texting app.
At this point, i have tried to restore these texts several times, with no success.
@userjvHRPpzsjD Be aware that after restoration of the texts, it can take some time for the messaging app to organize all those messages. It can take several minutes. Not sure if that helps or not.
I guess time will tell. I had to leave to go to work, so I'm not with the phone at the moment. The Smart switch app took about 20 minutes to organize the files after the restoration, but they never did pop up inside of the app. This evening I'll check again and see if they have, but I honestly doubt it
Welcome to the Samsung Community userjvHRPpzsjD, Looking at your post I see you are having issues with you restoring your wife's messages after a backup. I would be more than happy to assist you with this issue. According to LongHiker, I would also recommend you wait at least until the end of day to see if those restored messages come back to the Google messages. If this issue persists please reach back out too Samsung.
