**Device Information:**
- Model: Samsung Galaxy S23
- One UI Version: 8.0
- App: Samsung Health (latest version from Galaxy Store)

**Issue Description:**

The step counter in Samsung Health no longer updates in real-time while walking. Previously, the step count updated with each step taken. Currently, the data updates inconsistently every 1-3 minutes with no regular pattern.

**When the Problem Started:**

This issue began a few days ago without any changes to device settings or app configuration. The problem coincides with the One UI 8.0 update period.

**Troubleshooting Steps Already Attempted:**

1. โœ“ Cleared Samsung Health cache and data
2. โœ“ Verified battery optimization settings (set to "Unrestricted")
3. โœ“ Confirmed all permissions granted (Physical Activity, Location)
4. โœ“ Checked for Samsung Health updates in Galaxy Store
5. โœ“ Verified no wearable devices connected (no "Select step data source" option available)
6. โœ“ Restarted device multiple times
7. โœ“ Manual synchronization via Samsung Cloud

**Current Behavior:**

- Step count updates irregularly (sometimes every 1 minute, sometimes 2-3 minutes)
- No real-time step-by-step counting anymore
- Issue persists after all troubleshooting steps

**Expected Behavior:**

- Step counter should update in real-time with each step taken
- Consistent update frequency while walking

**Request:**

Please investigate this issue and include a fix in an upcoming Samsung Health update or One UI system patch. This feature worked correctly before and appears to be a software bug introduced in One UI 8.0.

Same here. Coincidentally I just activated and used my new Samsung watch for the first time yesterday. Before the watch I was strictly using my phone to count steps. The option to switch between steps counted on my phone, watch or both has been completely removed as well as the ability to manually pause and continue step counting from the samsung health app via my Galaxy s23. I was under the impression the entire time that my application was bugging. Very poor move on samsungs part as I am a semi truck driver and these watches are poor at determining what is a real step vs a Ghost step. This drastically increases step count and makes accurate exercise tracking impossible. Paired with the now irregular step count updating as opposed to the previous "Real time" counting has soured my experience. Very unfortunate I hope they can adjust these less that favorable changes!

I have an S21 and noticed the same issue with the step counter being significantly delayed all of a sudden.

Same with my phone S24+ I did an update yesterday and now my Samsung Health app won't give me real time steps anymore. It is extremely annoying as I walk a certain amount of steps and have to track in real time. I had to download another free app to do this. please provide a fix as I already did all of the steps above.

Same issue with my S22. Started a few days ago as well and have completed all troubleshooting with problem persisting. Samsung please fix this so steps are counted in real time again.

I also want the real-time tracking of steps. I often have a very specific goal of steps in mind and it feels good to see progress as you walk. Also, I want the ability to pause steps on the phone back. I don't know why these features have been removed as they were really useful and if someone does not want to use them, they can ignore. Or perhaps, Samsung can give a setting for the same.

I am also facing the same issue from last month. Any solution for this?
