I run Android 16 and OneUI 8 on my S23 Ultra 5G phone.

Using Theme Park from Good Lock, I was hoping to be able to create truly square icons, but the closest I can get is a square with rounded corners. Can Theme Park make truly square icons?

Yes just find a square image on the internet like my screenshot.

Then in Theme Park
Click on Icon
Click Create New
Scroll Shape until you see plus icon
Click the plus
Click on Gallery
Select the Square image you downloaded. KKVUk8zkmk.png

That worked well, thanks!

Using the provided image as an example, I discovered that the background in a folder (i.e., a group) of icons was white with a small red square in the center. To change this, I chose a "Tray color" which then became the background in the folder. The same color will also become the background for icons that are otherwise transparent, like Perplexity or Snapseed.

Incidentally, if you choose to make your icons square, don't be surprised if they appear larger than previously, since you are filling in the portions of the icon that were 'shaved off' to make the icon look rounded. This was a desirable outcome for me.

The option to change icon shape directly within Developer Options was removed in newer One UI versions, so the recommended method is through Theme Park.
