Is there a way to rotate the lock screen on the Galaxy S23?  The clock only shows in portrait mode.  I want it to show in landscape mode when the phone his horizontal.  I see no such option under Settings / Lock screen.

I'm having the same problem. Worked previously but now does not rotate at all.

Try clearing the lock screen app cache and then restarting your device.

There is no "lock screen app cache".  The lock screen is an Android setting, not an app.

My apologies! You are correct. It is under the AlwaysOnDisplay app.

Again, no such app.

Go to the lock screen settings and scroll to the bottom where it says About Lock Screen. On that page, tap the i icon in the upper right corner. Then scroll down to storage and clear cache. Reboot phone and try again.

Tap on storage, as I mentioned previously. There, you'll find at the bottom, the clear cache option.

I missed the step to click on Storage. I have now done that, and cleared the cache, and restarted. No change. I didn't expect it to work because the settings specifically allow Landscape or Portrait but not Rotate. The bottom line is that it's either/or; rotate is unsupported.
