Before the new UI update, I was able turn certain notifications off in all my apps. So, my phone won't go off every ⅛ of a second for whatever notification category is active. Since the new UI update, the notification category is gone and now I cannot stop any notifications on my phone unless I block them all. Ex: My banking apps I would like to have my notification set to only general notifications on with a certain ringtone, so I know what notification I am getting. Now, you cannot do that and I get all notifications. Even a notification about general updates that I turned off completely in the notification category, but now you cannot do that. All I can do is just silent it completely, but that still does not work. Is there a workaround to this besides just blocking unwanted app notifications?

The screenshot is from my personal phone with the new UI update and the pictures are from another phone that cannot get the new UI update. I kind of miss that category option and I miss customizing the ringtone in certain notifications. Using the Google Chrome app for reference.Screenshot_20240524_213903_Settings_1000003375_1716601144.png20240524_214005_1000003378_1716601207.jpg20240524_214022_1000003379_1716601224.jpg

@iLıkeÅpples It's easy to re-enable it. Open phone settings -> Notifications -> Advanced settings. Near the bottom, enable the option "Manage notification categories for each app".

I was about to delete my post because I just found that option by myself seconds ago, but thanks for the help. 😂

In my S23 I have opened phone settings -> Notifications -> Advanced settings. Near the bottom,  I enabled the option "Manage notification categories for each app".  I want to choose a specific sound each time I receive an instant message in the Google Messages app.  I still  cannot find the option to do that in this app.  Where is that feature?

@whocares2245 "I have an S20+5G and I sing have that setting"

What version of OS and One UI is your phone using?

If I remember correctly the "Manage notification categories for each app" setting first appeared in One UI 6.1. Earlier versions of the UI didn't have this option and essentially had this enabled by default.
