Text photos from iphone are changed to HEIC format. How do I get these texted photos to be jpeg again? Yes, I've check camera settings and no HEIC is not enabled.
These are not photos I've taken. They are texted photos from iphones. Started happening a couple months ago.

Galaxy S23Are you sure your people aren't sending them in HEIC format? Pictures are generally downloaded in the format they are uploaded in.

Galaxy S23I don't think iphone users are sophisticated enough to know their camera setting are HEIC when texting photos. LOL. It's from all iphone users now, not just some. So, somehow the format is getting switched when I receive the texted photo

Galaxy S23It may be their camera's default format and they are not sophisticated enough, as you say, to change it. I do not believe photos convert themselves.

Galaxy S23I need to use them, so when I forward to my email, I can't open them on desktop or laptop.

Galaxy S23Why not just convert them once they are on the PC and re-send them? There might be a converter app for your cell phone as well to convert HEIC to JPG. I just checked a message from my brother who is an iPhone user, and his image came in as a .jpg file on March 20th, so either this change was made after that time, or the iPhone users are smarter than you give them credit for (or my brother is but that is unlikely, sorry bro!)

Galaxy S23Well, I just had the same problem. I got important text messages sent from an iphone to my Fold 6 and suddenly my message in Link to Windows on PC says to open on my mobile device. Yes it is on my Fold 6, but I need it to display on my PC as it always has. This changed just happened after I updated today to One UI 7.
