Hoping to find some work arounds for some severe issues I am having since the update (which I didn't even mean to install in the first place, mind you).

The issues:

1. Every time I try to open an app (including but not limited to Amazon, Sam's Club, Finch, Disney Solitaire, my banking apps, etc.) it will look as if it is loading but never open up fully. It will just sit on the loading or logo screen until I close out and reopen, sometimes upwards of five times just to get into the app EACH TIME.

2. The phone is laggy as anything now, both the home screen and native apps as well as downloaded apps such as shopping and games.

3. The text on widgets is now TINY. Not the whole phone. Just the widgets. Yes, I can make the whole phone text bigger. But that's obnoxious and then all the other text is huge so that the widgets are readable.

4. Samsung messages- Yes, I know they are phasing it out. Well, it will look like I sent a message on my end by the person I send it to never receives it. I am using Google messages now, but that has its own issues, particularly that when I send a text "Hi, how are you?", when I go to enter the text box again, my whole last text will fill the box (Hi, how are you?) and I have to delete it to type what I actually want to say.

5. My battery is FINISHED. I went from charging 1-2 times per day depending on use to now 4-5 times.

Needless to say, my next phone will probably not be a Samsung because I am done with this **bleep**. So along with any workarounds, if anyone knows of any (Android) brands that don't throttle their older phones to force upgrades, I am open to those suggestions as well for once I pay this brick off.

if you are using GoodLock, delete it, reboot into A15 SafeMode, restart to normal boot.

OUI7 DOESN'T LIKE A14/OUI6x GoodLock/settings.

if you need GoodLock, reinstall it, install fresh locklettes & reconfigure.

yes, it's a PITA, but it has fixed many, but not all, OUI7 problems on my SM-S908U.

good luck!!!

If you haven't done this yet, clear the device cache in recovery. That will get rid of old cached system files that may be conflicting with the new OS. It may not fix everything, but it's a start.

Steps for how to clear device cache partition:

1) Turn off your device.

2) Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Side/Power button until you feel a vibration and the Samsung logo appears. Let go of the buttons.

3) You will now be in Android recovery. Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Wipe cache partition."

4) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

5) Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Yes."

6) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

7) "Reboot system now" will already be highlighted. Press the Side/Power button to execute.

ok, no GL.

that pretty much leaves you to search through Settings to restore/correct changes made by OUI7. tedious & unwelcomed. i spent 3 days being surprised, if not angered, by undocemented Settings changes that never should've happened w/o notice & my consent.

my SM-S908U has become more stable, post A15/OUI7, w/o grand mal Factory Reset. but it's still not as rock stable as A14/OUI6.1 that was left behind.

progress is possible, absent actual hw failures.

good luck.

Yeah I've been correcting them as they creep up for me- like when I went to restart my phone only to find that the power button opened Gemini 😔

Settings, advanced features, side button, long press. Change it to "power off menu."
