S23+ notification issue after update

I recently updated to the September patch, and I've been noticing that the notifications won't pop up while my phone screen is turned off. Now certain applications do but others do not like Gmail and Amazon. I have my GW5 and I get them on there but it's not doing its normal pop up notification like it usually did. Is anyone else having an issue with this?

Are the apps that still activate the screen enabled for the watch inside the Galaxy Wearables app also? Is there a correlation between the apps that aren't activating the screen and these settings?

As in still get notifications while wearing the watch? Yes I have that enabled

What I mean is, are the apps are aren't turning on your screen anymore set to only come through on your watch? If you disconnect your watch, do they come through normally?

It's the apps that I have enabled on both. I've restarted the watch a few times because it was giving me a random disconnect issue and that still didn't help

So you've tested disconnecting the watch entirely and these same notifications still do not activate the screen whatsoever? I just want to rule out this being related to the watch.

Yeah. Haven't had this issue before. Only after I updated my phone has this issue came to be

Very strange. Go to Settings>Apps>three dots top right>Special access>Turn screen on. Ensure the apps are toggled on here.

Are you able to think of any differentiating factor between the apps that are still activating the screen? There must be a reason some apps still work. Any 3rd party apps that might be interfering, or custom settings?
