I'm trying to set up my old s23 Ultra for my mother and after I factory reset everything it appears that a lot of the apps that I had on the phone prior to the big update are no longer available. One of the main apps that I am trying to get back are the Samsung messages but I guess it's no longer available on Samsung s23 but somehow available on my s25? Make it make sense Samsung!!! What is going on with you?! Why are you becoming the enemy after we have supported you for so long 🄲 now I regret factory resetting my phone because I could have kept those apps. Now I'm going to have to try to find a APK 😭 Samsung has to listen to all the complaints about all the updates!!!!! PLEASE!

@zhyxgg Doing a factory reset removes all 3rd party apps and all user data. It has nothing to do with an update.

You should be able to find Samsung Messages in the Samsung Galaxy store.

It's literally telling me that the app is not compatible with this device even if I share it from my s25 to the s23 it's still not showing. Trust me I have tried. I am blaming the update because it has removed so many good/useful things.

And I am aware that a factory reset removes all third-party apps I am talking about Samsung's apps that are no longer appearing in the Galaxy store

Some apps may also get removed as it goes to default having no settings or information on prior use

It's a messaging app.  Any messaging app will send/receive texts.  If you can't find Samsung Messages, use Google Messages as is being pushed anyway and has the only RCS standard the carriers are allowing.  There is no learning curve, open it up, send/read texts.  Samsung was allowing Samsung Messages to die, but they brought back a version of it specifically for the S25 when they reached an agreement with Google to use their RCS technology, now they may bring it back for other devices, but I wouldn't hold my breath.  If the app on your S25 is not compatible with the phone you are trying to put it on, then you cannot make it compatible.  You can possibly find a compatible older version on APK mirror, but you won't have RCS functionality.
