Samsung removing 10x optical zoom from S24 Ultra????

I just read a post from a credible source that Samsung has decided to remove the 10x optical zoom feature for the upcoming S24 Ultra camera.  This is disappointing news as I really like the 10x optical zoom on my S23 Ultra.  I usually buy a new phone every year because I like to have the latest and greatest, but if Samsung actually does remove this feature from the S24 Ultra, it's a big step backwards IMHO and I will probably skip the S24 and maybe the next.  I'm pretty happy with my S23 Ultra and I can't see spending more money for less.

IMHO advancements in phone technologies has have reach a plateau with only minor advantences in cameras and battery technologies each new year. I use to upgrade annually, then every other year. My last phone, the Samsung s10+ 1TB was so good that I held on to it for four years. I know have the s23 Ultra. I'm retired now, so being on a fix income and with fewer ground breaking advances in phones, I'll probably hold on to this phone for another four years, which is now the service upgrade life for Samsung phones.

Same, most likely will switch over to the iphone 16 pro . They invented this whole periscope zoom and now they will drop it like cold turkey
