Ok. I'm a gadget freak. S23 U, recently updated to UI7, And I've been exploring the changes. I got a question about the airplane mode.
Now, airplane mode is suppose to drop wifi, Bluetooth, cellular communications correct? Music, games, documents, maps... remain accessible as long as they are preloaded correct?
So I'm sitting here experimenting and learning.
My S23 is set to airplane mode now with the icon showing at the top,
I've run Speedtest multiple times with 300-400 upload and download speeds.
Gone surfing the internet to sites I've never been to before.
I haven't been flying in years and actually never had to use airplane mode before, but... I'm sitting here writing this question in airplane mode showing at the top of the screen.
Is this a UI7 bug?

Airplane mode initially turns off Cellular, Bluetooth and WiFi. But, Android has gotten smart and realized people use BT and WiFi while on a plane. Therefore, if you enable BT or WiFi while in Airplane mode, Android remembers that and doesn't disable those when Airplane mode is enabled in the future.

Hmm. I hit airplane mode and haven't hit anything else. It never turned anything off and I never turned anything on.
Oh well. I was wondering if I found a glitch.
Thanks

@Big-Bad-Brad After enabling Airplane mode, swipe down on the right side of your screen and check the Wifi and Bluetooth icons.

Ok. It just makes more sense to hit airplane mode to turn off outside communications (because FAA feared other radio communications interfering avionics) then turn them back on with the clearance from the crew. The way this is, hitting airplane mode doesn't do anything other than change the color of the button. Oh well.

Airplane mode turns off the Cellular connection -Always!

If you want the others to be switched off also, enable Airplane mode then turn off BT and WiFi. Next time that you enable Airplane mode they will be turned off also. ...until you turn them back on when Airplane mode is enabled.
