Stop Messages from resizing content

Is it possible....to stop samsung messages from resizing content when sent via text/mms/chat? Im not concerned about data usage or how long it takes to send an an original image or file, I'd like to have the option. After all, who knows what people i send pics/etc. are actually seeing? Pictured is a 5.5 mb image. After sending it through samsung messages it was reduced to 1.5 mb. Why? Doesn't matter. I'd prefer the option to actually CHOOSE what I send. Can it be done? Thanks members 🤝

Hmmm, from the 'my files' app, or samsung gallery? I'll check it out, but i don't believe i saw a compression option from gallery

If you don't have RCS, it is sent by MMS, IMPOSSIBLE to change the resolution. Samsung Messages is losing ALL features. Carriers do not allow for higher resolution over MMS.

You would need to switch to Google Messages to send high res videos and photos, or you can just stay on Samsung Messages and send lower quality. Your choice!

Unfortunately, the choice is, not much of one at all. I've followed the information regarding Samsung Messages' eventual removal. I was a google messages user for years before Samsung created a messaging app. Both messaging apps have their pros and cons. I simply try to avoid supporting apps and services from providers which have wholly monopolized the digital communication market. It's safe to say I have my reasons, but that is another discussion. Well, then, I'm afraid you will have to suffer with the compressed pictures, as there has always been a size restriction for sending media via SMS, and that is not going to change, there is no bandwidth for it (Short Message. Service.) At this point in time only Google Messages is going to have RCS, as that is what the carriers decided to go with. So, either live with the truncated photos, switch to Google Messages, or send your photos via another means. Depending on file size, neither email, nor quick share may be options. You can probably create a shared folder in OneDrive; you definitely can in Google Photos (but, you don't want to use Google, so that's out).
