With the update to One UI 7, we received a vertical app drawer with no pages. I wanted the horizontal pagination style back as was in previous One UI versions. I found that you can only achieve this by selecting "Custom Order" from the 3 dot menu in the app drawer. However, this causes all of the apps to be out of order and pages to not be completely filled. After going back to the 3 dot menu I found that there is now a "Clean up pages" button. After clicking this, all of the apps condensed to fill each page, but they are not sorted alphabetically. Going back to alphabetical sorting puts the app drawer back into vertical scrolling.

We need the option to have the horizontal pagination design WITH alphabetical sorting. You pumped all of these AI features we weren't asking for into the update, but left out alphabetical sorting on the app drawer for horizontal pagination.

Please fix this!

When you open your app drawer , how do you search for an app?

Did you scroll through your pages?

Did you know which and where exactly it was on a page?

I am trying to understand why it really makes a difference.

Do I prefer the look of vertical list? Yes

Do I ever scroll through my apps to find an app? Never!

I use the finder access search bar.

Maybe in a future update Samsung will add this back either natively or through the Goodlock.

I scroll left and right. I knew where all my most used apps were by the page and position on the page. I've now gone through the custom sort and manually added them back to the correct spot.

Ultimately, why not just add the vertical scroll with alphabetical order and custom sort and leave the way it has always been alone?

I do hope this is added back or a Good Lock feature added to support this.

I'm all for improvement, but when you change the way the phone functions to where you have to relearn everything all over, it seems counterintuitive.

This happens with every Ui update. Some people will be upset, some will love it.

Over the many years with Betas Samsung gets input from Beta testers. If enough people request some features Samsung tries to implement them in future Ui updates.

Vertical app drawer has been one of the top features that has been requested. You use to be able to switch to Vertical in Goodlock. They took that away in Ui6, you couldn't change to Vertical in Goodlock. They promised for months that it would be added back. It wasn't added to the Goodlock HomeUp module. They added it to Ui7.

I still don't understand why people scroll to the where the app resides to open it. It's just much faster to use the search bar.

Because I can scroll and click faster than I can type when I know where the app is.

Plus, scroll and click is a one-handed operation. Typing is a 2-handed operation on the Ultras.

I agree, some will love and some will hate updates. There are some UI improvements on One UI 7 that I love. However, they didn't completely change the function of the phone either.

I love almost everything!

The one exception that I absolutely detest, the awful BATTERY PILL. It is not only ugly, it is hard to read the battery percentage when it goes below a certain level.

I have taken it off my status bar and now use a battery widget.

I haven't decided if I like the new battery indicator or not. My phone just updated today and I'm only at 63% right now. So far it hasn't been hard to read for me.

I agree. This is my second most hated change. It's so much harder to tell the percentage at a distance. I used to be able to tell at a glance, now I have to try and distinguish the wiring between white and black, and I just generally no longer know what is at without picking it up ands getting close enough to see if clearly, which just aggravates me. Kind of want to go back to the previous UI.

I disagree. I could get to Spotify with 1 down swipe, one swipe to the left, and I would click the app. Now I need to get the apps to show, find the search bar at the bottom, bring up keyboard, use the keyboard to type Spotify, then click it. It's about 8 extra taps than before. I agree with OP
