Are you kidding me with this BS, Samsung has just lowered the Trade-in value for the S22ultra to $370.
Why?

Be patient. Samsung is preparing and updating their website for next week event.

Samsung will raise it back up once the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip preorders drop.

Trade in values are fluid and based on resale value.
New s23 ultra is out and so it lowers value of s22 ultra. Trade in value is generally less than resale market value unless the company that is taking the trade raises the value above market value.
Samsung has traditionally kept Trade in values artificially high when a pre order or big sale. The next big sale will probably be in July like last year or Black Friday.
If you wait for a deal you might find it but this year Samsung bucked the long running trend and offered substantially lower Trade in values for s22 models. I don't know why.
You might also try to sell your device on a sight like swappa and get more money but have a hassle with PayPal fees, swappa fees and shipping costs.
If I were you I would wait for a while and then try and find the best deal. Right after release of a new phone model and after pre order is generally the worst time to buy and sell.

I used buybacktronics to sell a deceased relatives phone. Got a bunch of money compared to other site and they were the only ones I found that didn't have BBB complaints for the "bait and switch". They paid what I was quoted base off the description I gave. I just had them mail me a check, so no venmo or stuff like that. Took about 10 days from mailing the phone out to receiving a check.

Samsung is bowing to carriers this year, Carrier deals are really good this year. I always have unlocked devices, don't want to be tied to Verizon for 3 years to get for it $399.
I was able to trade in a old Note 9 for $190 and got a watch 5 bluetooth for free. Sold my S22 Utra 512 gb and Watch for $1000, cost of new phone $67. When all was said and done.

Yeah I doubt they will increase the trade in values. It's getting worse as time passes. So much for Samsung caring about their customers.

As you can see the trade values are still bad.
