Hello,

I have an issue with Samsung 45W chargers. I had two, and the first one died after two weeks. The second one I had for five months but used only a few times (I also have a 25W charger and was traveling for work, so the 45W was not used for about three months), and today I plugged it into my phone, and nothing happened. I tested the cable with the 25W charger; it works fine. I tested two other phones with the 45W charger; nothing—it just stopped working.

Since I bought original cables and chargers, and they cost more than double the price of other alternatives, I do expect them to work longer than a few uses. How do cheap alternatives work and have no issues, but original Samsung chargers keep dying?

There is a serious issue with 45W chargers. It would be nice for Samsung to finally do something about it.

That's really odd. I never heard of any charger from the cheapest dollar store charger to the most expensive ones dying so quickly (not saying it doesn't happen, just that I never heard of it.) Are you sure your home electricity or the outlet you are plugging it into is not shorting it out somehow? I know I've had some bad outlets in my home at times, and where I am now, I have the flakiest electric grid with many mini outages and still have not had any charger die. If you think it's an issue with the Samsung brand chargers specifically, try another charger and see if the problem happens again. If it does, it's a problem where you are plugging it in. Also, are you sure you are using the correct cable? It could be your device is not charging, because you are not using the cable that came with your phone and might not be capable of carrying the juice.

Yes, I have 5 different Samsung chargers, my 45W being 5 years old, and incuding 2 dual wireless chargers, and never had a problem with any of them. I did, however, purchase 2 supposedly 'genuine Samsung' chargers from sellers on ebay- and they were obviously counterfeit; I could tell as soon as I held one in my hand! I got refunds on both, but it just goes to show you how many of these scammers are out there.
