I just made the worst mistake!

I went to Google Play to manage my apps and I ran across AOD and saw it saying 'Not compatible with my phone..." in red lettering! I saw the same exact thing in the once stock Samsung app "Gallery.". I'm like huh?! The mistake I made was UNINSTALL THE AOD EVEN THROUGH I HAVE GOOD LOCK AOD. I have Good Lock only on the side because there was ONE thing about it I didn't like

The PROBLEM with deleting Samsung AOD is I lost this WONDERFUL CHANGE THEY MADE ON AN UPDATE OR 2 AGO - On the AOD BEFORE THE SWIPE SCREEN, the wallpaper was "ghosted" in the background WHICH I LOVED!! I loved being able to see my wallpaper faintly in the background and NOW IT'S GONE!!

First, does ANYONE know what I'm talking about with the "ghosted" wallpaper fault faintly visible on the lock screen? And then, does ANYONE know how I can get that part of the lock screen back??

Both in the Google Play and Samsung Store the AOD app is GONE and I can't install it back in, but is there any other way I can get back the SAME FUNCTIONALITY AS THE ORIGINAL?

I'm already disappointed like crazy with this UI 7 or whatever it is, and this REALLY is infuriating me to the max.

who is weird enough to uninstall AOD, you can just turn off it when you don't need AOD

now just do a clean factory reset

Try this (if you haven't already) :

  • Long press on Home Screen & select "Themes" (bottom of the screen)
  • In Galaxy Themes, select the hamburger menu (bottom right)
  • Select "My Stuff(top left)

Any of your old downloaded AOD's should be available to be chosen from in the "AOD" tab (top right)

Try picking one from your avaliable options & apply it. To check if this worked, just turn your screen off and then tap your screen once — should display your AOD if this worked. Sorry in advance if I've misread your post and you've already tried this. I'm curious if this works for you — let us know, mane!

That will only show new stuff downloaded since update. I always used gallery pics for my AOD but no way to do that now. SO MAD about that!

A, shouldn't habe deleted, it uses nothing.
B, aod is basically useless. Just tap the screen. It's just making people more lazy. I swear next year someone will complain that the S26 won't wipe their but and it did with the 25..😂

You do not need Samsung AOD app since your phone has AOD built into it. I don't know if you saw my reply in your other topic but you can have that ghosted appearance on the AOD screen. The image or wallpaper you want ghosted on the AOD screen must first be set as wallpaper for the lock screen. Then go to settings/lock screen and AOD/always on display/turn on show lock screen wallpaper. This will show a faded or ghosted image of what ever image is set for your lock screen. This is how it works on my S24 and it should be the same on your phone.
