Can't draw in gallery

iIt is february 15th and let me be( quite LITERALLY the 1st to say)  went to open a picture to add doodle lines and the PENCIL ICON took me to only realizing the image. I had to google how to draw in it now. Completely unnecessary and invasive. I highly doubt anybody asked for these changes . On brand for AI.

Drawing on a photo in Gallery doesn't require AI.

What are you talking about?  The "pencil" icon opens to the full editor.  There are controls on the bottom to do what you need to do. To draw on a photo, you have to select the tool.  It's always been this way.
