Galaxy S24I use pattern and fingerprint to unlock my S24 Ultra. Over 3 days ago, I changed my pattern but forgot what it was later that day. So I was just unlocking my phone via fingerprint. Earlier today just received a message on the lock screen that I need to enter my pattern since "its been over 72hours" that I used the pattern. I can't unlock my phone until I enter the correct pattern. I can't even get in with fingerprint. I failed multiple times and currently locked out of my phone for 4hours. Is there a way to bypass this without having to lose data by factory resetting it? I also signed into "SmartThings Find" but it doesn't have "unlock phone" option; only option is to wipe data.

Galaxy S24Yeah, I figured factory reset would be the only option left. Was just throwing a hail-mary in hopes of a different solution lol. Thank you for your confirmation though.

Galaxy S24If you didn't have auto data back up set previously, you may want to consider setting it up once you get back into the phone.

Galaxy S24Yeah I have google backup but it was maxed out on 200GB. I upgraded my storage today (on a tablet) in hopes that my phone would automatically backup from the lock screen. But obviously that isn't going to happen. Ill lose like 5GB of data that wasn't backed up, but definitely lesson learned.
Thank you for you help.

Galaxy S24This a a security measure. You must unlock your phone with a pin/pattern/password every 72 hours regardless of biometrics. The only way to reset your pattern is to reset your phone and restore your backup. Security is never stored in the backup. Next time, write down your pin or draw your pattern and keep it somewhere safe. Patterns are the easiest method to forget, so if you use a pattern, you should also create a pin or password.

Galaxy S24Here’s an easy way to record your unclock pattern.
Think of the pattern dots like a phone dial pad, where each dot represents a number, 1-9, or a letters.
Write the order of numbers or letters that represent your pattern and keep it in a secure location in your home.
Example: Your pattern could be a word, such as “STICKY.” Your pattern would look like the attached photo starting at the 7. Or 784259.
As an alternative, one could utilize the nine digits on a calculator; however, it is important to note that the digits 1-3 and 7-9 are inverted, top to bottom, on a calculator keypad.
This inversion stems from the digital transformation of telephone keypads, where the digits were reversed to mitigate rapid dialing. Telephone companies observed that individuals proficient in ten-key typing could introduce errors into the system if they entered digits too swiftly. While the signals were digital, the majority of switches that connected two phone lines together, though automated, were still analog. This is no longer a concern due to the complete digitization of switches, yet the keypad configuration persists.
Using a calculator keyboard, the same pattern would then be recorded as 124853.
