S24U here. The awful One UI "update" was forced onto my phone. I want to remove the Now Bar completely from the lockscreen and replace it with the old Now Playing media player that it used to be. I hate how tiny the little pill is, and the little pill doesn't even list the artist's name. I'm not interested in swiping and sliding and two finger gestures or any of this nonsense. I want a media player that lists the song and artist name like a 20-year-old SanDisk MP3 has the common sense to include.

I also want to completely remove the Spotify notification next to the time. It's a colored notification that displays the song name. When I turn off Now Bar it goes away, but so does the lockscreen media player/Now Bar. I want that stupid top screen notification with the song permanently removed, I want the entire Now Bar gone, and I want to back back the old Now Playing media player.

How do I do this? I'm willing to use 3rd party apps and

I just posted this and hate it also! It needs to go back to last update.... the tiny pill on the locked screen and the top of the home screen is so stupid!

I agree. They need to allow us to turn the Now Bar off and turn on the old media player. Turning the Now Bar off shouldn't completely disable the media player. There also needs to be an option to turn off that giant pill notification next to the time while music is playing. The whole Now Bar is trash. Such a worthless tool.

I saw you can get rid of now bar on reddit . Mine didn't have it and sounds like I don't want it

If you tap on the Now Bar while media is playing, it will expand into the full sized media widget.

On my phone i had to double tap the tiny music control. It then expanded to almost a full screen music widget. Single tap and long press did nothing! Wasted 30min of tapping before finding that double tap was the way to finally get the full widget

That's strange. On my S23+, it only requires a single tap. I wonder if this is because my phone is an S23 and yours is an S24? Anyway, I'm glad that you got it to work.

I use Good Lock and the LockStar plugin in the app to add a widget to the lock screen for my music player. To do this download Good Lock, download the LockStar plugin in the app. Once finished tap on LockStar plugin, when the lock screen shows tap on LockStar at the bottom and a menu pops up, tap on app widgets and add you media player widget to the lock screen. You can move it to where you want it. Tap on it again to highlight the four corners then you can resize it to how big you want it. It is a widget so it will be permanent on the lock screen. Any notifications you get will cover it up of placed towards the middle of the screen until the notifications are removed.
