I have been have issues with the phone's memory/ram clear system seemingly lying to me about clearing applications from the memory clean up.

It happily shows you big numbers of stuff it can clear from the memory and the apps connected to it, but I often see the amount of available ram drop immediately afterwards. I often have to manually clear each and every app that's hogging ram and not giving it back (chrome applications especially.) I like having the simple one touch clear memory, but often its more like one touch 20 times over to actually clear anything, and I still find it hasn't cleared massive amounts of data from the ram thats being hogged by these apps.
I have a S24 ultra qith this alongside thermal issues, that drain the battery, are making it run slower and draining my battery to recharge far too often in one day.
Does anyone else have this issue?

@TheFInChat Don't think of RAM like storage. Using RAM uses less battery, causes less heat, makes your apps and UI react faster.

You want to use RAM. As long as RAM usages stays below 85-80% of the total, you are good.

Samsung's Good Guardians has a Memory Guardian plugin. If you go into Memory Guardians and click History at the bottom, it will show you your RAM usage over time. BTW, Good Guardians is free and in the Galaxy Store.

The problem is trying to clear up some ram to help run faster and easier, and seemingly nothing happening despite being told it was, the battery is a separate issue

@TheFInChat Clearing items out of RAM won't make anything run faster. When you clear it out of RAM, the active programs immediately are going to grab the RAM they need to operate most efficiently.

The only time you should be thinking about clearing something out of RAM is when an application is complaining about  not having enough RAM. This might be a game or CAD program or something else. It is going to be pretty rare.

That's the issue. They aren't active as im not using at the time I clear them. They shouldn't be taking up that much of the ram if im not actively using them or even one or twice in a week for a few seconds. Also, ram helps by caching data commonly used to keep the system snappy when using the same programs over and over again. The amount they cached is the issue, not the amount that is used when running. If I'm not using these applications actively, why can't I clear them and have that now cleared space taken up by another application that needs it?

It's probably for background processes that they have running. How much RAM are we talking about? Even megabytes isn't really an issue since your device has Gigabytes available.

I've had apps (google youtube, gmail) have nearly 2 1/5 gbs of cached data that wasn't cleared when I used the cleaner. That's why im not happy, as all of them I've closed as even forced stopped them, and they still hog so much of the ram cache despite being told they had been cleared.

Sorry, but you are on a wild goose chase.

Look at Memory Guardian. If RAM usage is 80-85% or lower, I would stop going down this trail.

Whatever issue you are trying to solve is most likely not related to this RAM usage.

So a samsung device memory setting isn’t working properly, and that's a wild goose chase????????
Wow, I came to report a seeming issue and got nothing in return but a third-party solution that does nothing but track usage when I could already do that on my phone.

Memory Guardian is a Samsung app.

I suggest that you report it via the Samsung Members app -> Support -> Send feedback.
