I updated to one UI7 last night and now my battery while on idle is draining extremely fast.

Had I known this would be an issue I would have never updated to this crappy software.

This is a major issue and like I said I can notice the extreme battery drain while the phone is idle.

If Samsung doesn't fix this issue I will be filing a claim as to me this is now a defective item that they caused.

Hey everyone,
I've been using the Galaxy S24 for a few weeks now and overall I love the performance but I’ve noticed some unexpected battery drain even when I'm just doing basic tasks like messaging, checking email and light browsing.

I’ve turned off Always-On Display limited background apps and dropped screen brightness but it still seems to drain faster than expected.

Is anyone else facing this? Could it be a software bug or a setting I’m missing? Any tips or fixes would be appreciated. 🙏

I love to help other and share my ideas. I got great knowledge about Samsung phones.

THE UI 7 UPDATE IS DRAINING MY BATTERY TOO FAST ON S24 ULTRA AND EVEN WHEN NOT IN USE...THE SAME ON MY GALAXY TAB S9 ULTRA...I DON'T LIKE THE NEW INTERFACE WITH ALL APPS ON ONE SCREEN...NOTIFICATION PANEL GOT ME ALL CONFUSED AT TIMES...LIKE PREVIOUS ONE BETTER...

My Galaxy S24 Plus did update to the UI 7 platform when it was first released. I did notice a very hefty battery drain after this update which was upsetting. After reading several responses for this issue, I waited a week or so as my phone adapted to the usage.
Happily I can report that today, I've used my phone moderate-heavy all day and I still have 35% left at 9pm CST. Yesterday, it would have been down below 10% with that usage.
So, relax .... your battery drain will correct itself

Updates do have slight impact after installation but doesnt last long I just think of it like on a computer getting a update where files get moved around and works itself thru

I installed the OTA one ui 7 update on my galaxy s24 ultra.

I've had the update since April 11.

 Phones battery life is worse.
Phone may randomly glitch now and reboot into safe mode when I get a text message.

I thought it was just a fluke the first time it happened, but then I noticed everytime the phone had rebooted into safe mode ( after the screen flickers on and off for a few seconds), it was right after I had gotten a text message.

Sometimes, it was when the phone was locked with the screen off and other times I was using the phone.

I tried rebooting and clearing the cache partition , but that did nothing to permanently solve the issue.

Factory reset did not solve it either. Issue still came back.

Everytime it happens, I have to restart the phone several times until it goes back to normal. (The battery drains a lot during this process)

I'm hoping Samsung pushes fix for this quickly.
I think after this is fixed, I'm just gonna delay downloading and installing updates as long as I can or switch to Pixel if future updates breaks a perfectly working phone .

Was never really excited for one UI 7 and all the hype around it anyway. One UI 6 worked perfectly fine for me. One UI 7 is making a pretty expensive phone almost unusable.
