I’ve had my S24 Ultra for about 4.5 months, and ever since the One UI 7 update, battery life has gone downhill fast. Before the update, I’d get about 1 to 1.5 hours of screen-on time per 10%. Now, it’s under 40 minutes per 10%, even with light usage like Brawl Stars, TikTok, and Snapchat. I also experience noticeable idle drain—a few percent per hour.

I reported this to Samsung, but the response was clearly recycled from a previous ticket—referring to old log files from months ago when the issue wasn’t this bad. I’ve done everything right: Adaptive Battery on, AOD set to Tap to Show, and I leave apps in Recents (no force closing). I even did a factory reset after the update, but battery life and performance still haven't improved.

On top of that, there are new glitches:

1. In landscape mode, pulling down the notification panel stutters and lags, especially during games.

2. In the Phone app, default background images don't apply anymore. Only video call backgrounds work. If I select a default image, it just shows the contact's profile color instead.

Samsung Support told me to wait a week post-update—but it’s been weeks, and nothing has improved.

Anyone else having these issues or found a fix?

Have you cleared device cache? That's something you should do after every software update (version change):

1) Turn off your device.

2) Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Side/Power button until you feel a vibration and the Samsung logo appears. Let go of the buttons.

3) You will now be in Android recovery. Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Wipe cache partition."

4) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

5) Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Yes."

6) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

7) "Reboot system now" will already be highlighted. Press the Side/Power button to execute.

Just checking. You never know what people have or haven't tried.

Also, see this post for more info about battery drain and things you can try until Samsung issues a permanent fix:

Is Samsung officially working on a permanent fix?

That's what I've seen on numerous tech sites. Nothing official from Samsung, though.

I hope so because as I've originally posted, battery life isn't the only issue. I know it should get better overtime, but glitches don't.

I have the same phone S24 Ultra and I'm experiencing a lot of issues after the UI 7.0 update. Spoke to Samsung techs for multiple days and hours but they can't resolve anything. First off my Bluetooth connects to the phone after a long time of discovering and then after that it only works for you to videos and other social media stuff but when I get a phone call I cannot hear anything. Try the most common unpairing and repairing but doesn't change anything. It seems to work right after I restart the phone but after a while it disconnects from voice calls. And also the ringtone does not transfer to the headset. There's a major compatibility issues with the Bluetooth and voice calls. I can't even transfer the voice calls to my Ultra watch.

The lock screen has an issue that doesn't let me just swipe or double tap to unlock the phone but I actually have to press the side button and then swipe or double tap to unlock the phone.

The calendar widget doesn't let me press on it unless I press on the month and then it opens the whole app for me to get into my calendar.

Upon unplugging the charging cable from the phone the phone is still displaying that is being charged. And sometimes plugging in the cable the phone doesn't want to charge unless I restart it. I've had to restart the phone so many times a day to make it work but after a few moments it goes back to not working properly.

Overall this new update sucks!
