S24u not printing!

On my s21+ I was able to print to my Canon g3290 just fine. I upgraded to the 24u and it wont print at all. It printed an email ONCE from WiFi Direct. Then nothing but errors. 

On the print screen, BOTH Wifi direct and canon are greyed out. 

I do have both Samsung print plugin and Canon print plugin installed as well as the default print service. 

I have tried with one print service toggled on and the other 2 off.

I know the printer works. As it prints from my mom’s Iphone and our Windows laptops.

One UI 8, Android 16. Jan 1, 2026 security update. I mostly print from Google Docs.

Do you have a vpn? Make sure "local network discovery" is toggled on in the vpn settings. If not, your device can not locate the printer. Sometimes even when the setting is toggled on, you may need to pause the vpn while printing documents then resume vpn when finished.

I don't have VPN on.

Do you have the printers actual app? That helps it connect better i believe? Thats how mine is i always have the app on my phone but i can print from the website that i am trying to print from. I have a brother printer. Its wayyy better than my older printer which was an epson inkjet (ewwwyuck)

I tried both. The app and the printer services pluggin.

If you go to your settings > connections> more connections> printing> turn on default print service> then from that tab click on it make sure the plug in is there and the printer name and address. I would remove and add it again to reset it. If that doesn't work it has to be your phone

I clicked on Default Printer Service. The printer is there for a minute, then disappears. And starts searching again. I am also on the same network as the printer. We have an extender.

Yeah it might be your phone, or the printer, which is weird because I have the s24 and mine works fine.

Have you tried to save it as a pdf then print it that way? Not using Google docs?

I like to use Google Docs since I can use that across multiple devices.
