I'm confused on why Samsung would release a security update rather than release a device improvement update. I don't know maybe the fact that everybody's complaining about battery draining issues. Think if I was a multi-trillion dollar company and I wanted to keep my customers happy I would give them what they want it but not just what they want what they absolutely need like a device improvement update for battery drain gaming plugins etc

I would tend to believe the security patches come from one department and the Android updates come from another department. With that being said, the security patch was probably ready to be published but the Android update was not. Hence, that's why you got the security patch update and not the Android update.

Agree with Oxford not to mention security updates are indeed monthly and the fixes take time to get worked out so perhaps wasn't finished at the time

Right, yeah, i agree with your perspective, and it feels crazy that with their money they can't make things work right out of the box...

you want security updates to be their own channel. There are new security risks every day. It would be annoying to update as often there should be security updates. Thankfully the security team and the UI team are different teams with different schedules

Yep money solves every issue, dont have time to re-program that, lets just throw money at it and the problem will go away.  Just like it did with Cancer, and Covid 19, both cured now because well over a trillion dollars have been spent on them.  The age we live in is completely free of defects because money!

Right. We can't just rub money on it and make it okay. Wouldn't that be nice? I guess. If we had infinite money.//

But yet, when a company does command that amount of resources one may expect them to have done better with those resources to start. It's reasonable to expect and the frustration is relatable.

Point proven guys... Although that is true it just amazes me all the money and all the time it takes them when they are devs that do this everyday for free and make custom ROMs way better than theirs.

Those devs are not being pressured by Google to make something 100% right, and do not have fanbois like sharks in chummed waters demanding the updates happen immediately.  Programming software takes time, those third party people do not have to ensure every aspect works, just the ones they want to toy around with.  It is no where near the same thing.

I used to be one of them devs. It's not that challenging honestly and for one person or a group of five or 10 people can do it pretty quickly I'm sure a multitrillion dollar company with hundreds of employees can do it even faster.

But I get it. Their problem is they're always in competition with Apple or somebody and they always want to work on the next thing instead of focusing on something good that they have already. That's why I miss and will always love LG it wasn't worried about being a competition they made a great device and they didn't make one every year they took their time and made something beautiful.
