So when I got the update whenever I'm on the home screen I have no status bar so I can't easily see it I have notifications or what time it is etc.

I've checked settings but can't find a way to get it back.. am I missing something or has Samsung made it impossible for the lulz?

Are you running a custom launcher? Nova has a toggle to not show status bar on the home screen.
