The objection you're going to meet in this proposition is squishing the rest of the keyboard to accommodate a number pad... either to the left or the right. I personally use a third party keyboard for different reasons: but that's the beauty of third party apps. What works well for you may not work well for me - and we can select those applications that work best for us.
