UI 7 Update changed my unread gmail messages to no longer being BOLD

After the update, the unread gmail messages in my inbox are no longer bold.  Trying to find a fix to change unread incoming messages back to bold; changing the font and filters(roles) hasn't worked.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I can't distinguish between emails that I've read and those that I haven't read.
