User Based Notification Controls Needed!

Since One UI 7, itโ€™s still way too easy to accidentally swipe away important notifications.

What we really need is full perโ€‘app user control โ€” the ability to mark any appโ€™s notifications as sticky / nonโ€‘swipable. That puts the user in charge: keep critical notifications locked in place, and toggle them off whenever needed so the notification is swipable again. Best of both worlds really.

Iโ€™m sending this feedback to Samsung again, but posting here to keep the conversation going and highlight how long this has been missing.

You can do that with NotiStar (Good Lock module). It's a feature called "set app unable to clear notifications."

Iโ€™m aware of NotiStar and I use it. The โ€œunable to clear notificationsโ€ option only stops the Clear All button from removing selected appsโ€™ notifications.

It doesnโ€™t prevent accidental swipeโ€‘dismiss.

For example, if I swipe away my weather app notification, NotiStar doesnโ€™t keep it present, and the notification doesnโ€™t show up inside NotiStar either.

Yes, the app will eventually update and repost the notification, or I can reopen the app, but thatโ€™s not the point. I donโ€™t want to accidentally swipe away notifications I want to stay visible until I choose to clear them.

This is why a systemโ€‘level perโ€‘app sticky/nonโ€‘swipable toggle is still needed.

I don't see that as good idea

Iโ€™m genuinely curious why wouldnโ€™t giving users the option be a good idea?

This wouldnโ€™t force anything on anyone. It simply adds a perโ€‘app toggle so people who rely on certain notifications can keep them from being swiped away.

Those who donโ€™t need it can leave everything asโ€‘is.

More user control generally improves the experience, not limits it.

Have you tried turning in notification history? Settings> notifications> advanced settings> notification history

Yes, the setting is turned on but that does not create the function of non-swipeable notifications in the notification panel. 1779538979439.jpg
