PLEASE, please, PLEASE.... bring back the VIP email notification option. I do not want to receive an alert for every single email in a day.

Make sure you have this toggled on and should have the option
Phone settings
Notifications
Advanced Settings
Manage Notification Categories for each app
now you should have the option
