The S24 series seems to still be using DisplayPort 1.2 which in this day and age is being limited. I would have thought Samsung would have upgraded to at least 1.4 at this point as the competition is getting ready to launch 2.0 devices.

  • No high refresh rates while Cloud Gaming on DeX
  • No Dolby Atmos as DP 1.2 is limited to eight channels
  • No 8K, not exactly relevant yet but maybe in a year or two

USB-C to HDMI cable or a USB-C dock with graphics ports works equally well with a phone as with a laptop etc. Here's some reading:

You do know that the Galaxy series has DeX, which is Samsung's implementation of Android desktop mode?

I think a clearer answer would be usb 3.0 is capable of transmitting 4K video. A lot of newer monitors now have a USB-C port for video from phones, tablets, and laptops that lack HDMI or Display ports.

As for the OP's question, it could simply be no one is really gaming through DeX or need the high refresh. Samsung is one of the few companies not going all in on cloud gaming.
