The Beta is currently full and the only people that are able to join if new spots open are T-mobile customers and people that purchased directly from Samsung with a Model# ending U1

This statement is misleading. Paying off your device and then having the carrier unlock it will NOT get you into beta. This would be a Carrier Unlocked device, which is not eligible. Eligibility is limited to FACTORY unlocked or T-Mobile locked/branded devices. So if purchased directly from Samsung with Unlocked selected, you can get in (even if you have not finished paying Samsung for your device). Sadly, the door has closed on this for now, as they have reached the maximum number of people that the servers can handle for this phase of the beta.
