Posting this as both an affected user and an IT Support Specialist. If you're on an S25 Ultra and your Microsoft apps started failing after the April 2026 security patch, you're not alone and it's not your setup.

Symptoms I'm seeing:
Teams loses presence indicators, messages hang unsent
Authenticator stops firing push notifications
OneDrive folder operations fail
Outlook, ToDo, Excel also affected intermittently
Reboot temporarily restores function but the window is shrinking
What I've already tried, none of which holds:
Force close and relaunch
Clear cache and data
Uninstall and reinstall from Play Store
Re-sign in to all accounts
Updated Google Play Services
Diagnostic signal Samsung engineering should care about:
Installing the same Microsoft apps inside Secure Folder restores normal function. That narrows the problem to the main user profile's handling of something these apps depend on, and Knox container isolation bypasses it. My read: token exchange, account sync, or a background service regression introduced by the April SMR.
Cross-device comparison also isolates it cleanly. S26 Ultra and Z Flip 6 users on equivalent firmware are not reporting this. It's specific to the S25 Ultra April 2026 build.
What I've done so far:
Filed a Samsung Members error report with logs
Contacted Samsung tech support via text (currently in progress)
Contacted Microsoft support, who is pointing back at Samsung as the source
What I'm asking Samsung for:
Public acknowledgment that this regression exists
Estimated fix timeline - is it rolling into the May 2026 SMR or is a hotfix planned
Guidance on whether One UI 8.5 stable release will include the fix
Device info:
Galaxy S25 Ultra (SM-S938U1, US unlocked)
One UI 8.0, Android 16
Build: BP2A.250605.031.A3.S938U1UES9BZBH
Service: T-Mobile
If you're experiencing this, please reply with your device model, firmware build, and carrier. The more of us on record, the harder Samsung has to prioritize the fix. This is a work-critical issue for a lot of people, and the current silence from Samsung is not acceptable for a flagship still well inside its support window.

Hi all. Experienced this exact issue with my Samsung S25 ultra. Found a solution which worked for me at My Microsoft Apps have stopped working on my Samsung Ultra S25 - Microsoft Q&A

Essentially:

This issue was due to a WebView regression from the Samsung April 2026 security update. It can be resolved by following these steps:

  1. Settings -> Search for "Android System Webview" -> App Details In Store -> Remove Updates
  2. Reboot
  3. Settings -> Search for "Android System Webview" -> App Details In Store -> Update
    • Note: If "Android System Webview" doesn't appear in the app list, go to:
Settings -> Google -> All services -> System Services -> Select "Android System Webview"
  4. Reboot
  5. Launch Teams/Outlook & log in.

This didn't resolve the issue on my Galaxy S24.  But, thanks for the suggestion.

Have you tried setting Private DNS to Off and rebooting? It cleared up my Microsoft authentication issues in multiple apps once I did that. I think Samsung started proxying DNS through outside servers instead of letting the ones configured by the network handle DNS requests. Might explain why putting the apps in the Secure Folder bypasses these issues. UPDATE: What worked better for me was setting Private DNS to Cloudflare's servers. With Private DNS off I still had to reboot about once a day, but after setting Cloudflare, I haven't needed a reboot in nearly a week, ever since selecting it.

This actually worked.  Now I'm hoping it helps with my authentication issue in my gmail account.

I'm a little uneducated about secure folders. How do you create one then install Apps in it?

Thank you so much, @Shane-Moore. I have March 2026 update on my S25 Ultra. My Outlook, Teams, Copilot and more of Microsoft apps stopped working since yesterday! This was affecting my work account as well. I did exactly the steps you have outlined and, bingo, my outlook, teams, copilot started working. Thank you, again.
