I just did and I hate it. I'm upgrading from s22 because I wanted more storage space. Big Big mistake I hate the messenger app. I used to be able to download a photo sent to me with Spanish text , then to the photo and use lens to translate from to Spanish to English which I do on a daily basis. Not now. You have to download the photo go to your photos and then to a message folder and the lens doesn't offer translation. Another thing you can only copy from message the whole message and not just one word in it. I do that often when I'm signing on to a website and they send me a six digit code that I can copy and just paste it into the web page. Not anymore that's just some of the things that don't work right on this phone. No wonder they're giving it away. Anybody else having problems. I don't know if downloading the Samsung message app would help. It doesn't offer it as an alternative on the phone.

Any suggestions or comments?

If I had that issue, I would just start using the circle to search function and translate it without even downloading the photo. Have you tried that?

By the way, you can also copy individual words in the text messages (Google Messages) by using that method.

Samsung is giving it away?

Anyway, it would have been better to just ask first than to make a longform complaint.

So I tried sending myself a image from a store in Mexico in Google messages, then clicked on the image, clicked share icon (circled) I used a choice to be able to and then I chose what to use to translate it which was Google lens. You can choose translate by highlighting the text.1739379892308.jpg1739379892317.jpg

@Jesuschic I use Google messages. When I get 2FA confirmation codes, the codes are underlined and easily copied to put in applications which are requesting them. Usually I click on the code directly in the notification that appears. Also many apps ask if they can watch for the text and grab the code when they ask for a 2FA code. Then the app just automatically grabs it and fills in the fields.

Just redownload the Samsung Message app from the Galaxy Store. Regardless of Google supposed "superior" features I don't want to use Google. They know to much of my info & stopped using the majority of their apps over a year ago.

Still waiting for a Google Maps replacement that doesn't just sell at a price

You are not forced to use Google Messages.  You can use any messaging app you prefer.  If you prefer Samsung Messages, you can download it from the Galaxy store and continue to use it.  As @LongHiker said, the OTPs in Google Messages have a "copy" option surrounding the code, so you can just copy and paste it into your app or website.
