Hello, I'm an iPhone user who recently switched to Samsung. I'm currently using the Samsung S25 Ultra. Previously, when I used an iPhone, the screen would light up whenever I received a notification, so I could easily know when there was a new alert. However, I don't know how to set this up on my Samsung device.

At the moment, there's an app called Glimpse Notifications that can do this, but I'm concerned about security since it requires access to notifications. Can someone please help me with this?

You need to download Good Lock from the Galaxy Store and then look for Edge Lighting or just go watch a couple YouTube video tutorials about edge lightning notification.

@doom1234 Hi guys, I want it to light up the entire screen like on iOS, not just the edges.

So you found an app that will do this for notifications, but don't think that it would need permissions into the one aspect it uses?  How would any app be able to do something with notifications if it has no permission to see that notifications are happening?  Perhaps the Android architecture has permissions for more areas than Apple devices do?

@usermzeJaY3BsM I just want the screen to fully light up when there's a notification, like on iOS, without having to keep it always on.

My point is that if you want an app to do something with notifications, then it would need to have notification permissions.  My comment about Apple permission was to state that maybe Apple devices don't lock down said permissions and therefore don't ask.

Go to settings/notifications/notification pop-up style/edge lighting style and go from there.

Also, if you have Good Lock, you can open that and choose to download Edge lighting+ which offers more customization of the edge lighting effects.

You can download the Good Lock app from the Galaxy Store if you do not have that installed yet.
