I'm not very pleased with Samsung

I think it's time to switch to iPhone. I have been a Samsung user my whole life but not very pleased lately.

What are you displeased about, exactly?  Updates that are mandatory?  Android Play System updates being delayed? The infinite customization of your Samsung interface (try that with Apple)?  They took away your favorite feature?  Something not working properly that we can likely help you troubleshoot? You can buy any phone your heart desires.  Make sure it meets your needs.

My biggest complaint with samsung they like to gatekeep the bigger updates such as 8.5 when it gets released. Apple releases the updates for all its phone's at once

Apple has one model phone (well, they may have a couple, but they are essentially the same phone). Not several different lines.  Apple also does not send their updates through the carriers first.  Who cares when you get an update as long as your phone is functional until it gets there?
