Hello,

I have used Routines for the last few weeks. It seems nice. I have a routine set for cleaning up my phone, as you can see in the photo. Normally, Avast is usually cleaned up in just a few minutes. I don't know if I set it to Special Time instead of a time range with start/end times, and in Special Time mode, when it starts, does it automatically end? I mean, in Specific Time mode, it will only activate the routine at a specific time and let the app operate on its own, right? Or will it keep the app running all the time? I'm confused about it.

Thank you.

I have about 10 different routines that I use, but I've never used the specific time routine. I just tried making one and I was surprised that it didn't give you the option after routine ends what to do. All of my other manually created routines have that option. I wonder if you could do the routine without the specific time module and see if that makes a difference?

I have a routine for backup (this option appears in Samsung's setup) with a time range. I set it from 12:00 to 12:10 a.m. I left it for a few days and then checked again; it did not automatically activate the backup at all. Samsung's automatic backup setup does not have a specific timeline. I often test Android features, and once I had to reset my entire phone, thinking it was automatically backed up. But it was not. Samsung automatic backup needs no routine. It automatically backs up between 1 and 3 a.m. nightly. It has no specific time because it backs up when you are not likely to be using it. I believe it also must be charging and have over 30% power.

If you set a routine to do a specific app task at a specific time, it will end at the point the app finishes its task. Why do you need to create a routine to do this? Most anti virus apps have their own scheduler.

Yup. My Avast subscription has a daily schedule, but I wonder if I can pick an exact time. Lol

From what I recall of Avast snd any other I've seen, you can absolutely schedule the time. At least you used to, but that was also for the computer program. Phone may have different settings. In any case, I believe the phone app checks in real time, and even if it does a full scan in daylight it does not interfere with the phone's operation.

In this case. I'm just trying to find a way to fully harness the potential of this application. Let's see if it's bounded and if I really use it effectively

You would only use routines to automate a task or series of tasks that's not already automated. Not just for the sake of creating a routine.

I use Malwarebytes and I can schedule a scan on specific days and times. Right now it's set for derp scanning on Mondays at 2 a.m. - no routine necessary. It also automatically scans after updates.
