I'm glad everyone is just as upset as i am. I hope this will make them rethink their decision. I'm literally the only person that i know that owns a samsung still and i defend it against apple as if Samsung was paying me. But this makes it even harder to defend Samsung. This really makes us look weak compared to Apple. It's already bad enough we have to use a Google app store and Google maps when they have their own thing. There's no reason why we shouldn't have Samsung Maps or S-Maps. We have the Galaxy Store but it's not as stocked as Apple's store is. And I'm surprised you haven't gotten rid of that app yet. I know the Samsung Messages app was used way more than that app is used. And don't even get me started on Apple's "Find My" vs Samsung's "Find My". You're better off looking at a paper map than looking at Samsung's Find My map. I really don't want to move to Apple but if Samsung keeps moving in this direction I will have to switch over.

Samsung already has it,it's called message. Issue is that carriers will not support it.

Not EVERYONE is upset over this.  Just a handful of disgruntled users in the vastness of the galaxy of Samsung users.  Some people don't care, because they never used Samsung messages in the first place; others just see it as another change in the software universe and will just do what they need to do to have a necessary utility (a messaging app).  What upsets me, is the absolute inconsideration of all those who are upset, who feel the need to create their own individual post on the matter, rather than adding their voice to one already posted, resulting in a wall of spam and pushing down the posts of people who want actual help with REAL problems.  It's like walking into a nursery with every baby crying.

No you're right it is a lot of people. Google Messages has over 40 million reviews in their playstore and ever since Samsung announced the forced switch their score dropped. It was close to 5* (4.8) and now its 4.5. Again, with a 40 million user review buffer, to see ratings fall in 3 days means theres a lot

No, what it actually means is that it is a coordinated campaign to tank the reviews of an app - an app that most of those new reviewers never even opened once, or only once.  When I look at reviews of anything, I only give credence to reviews that have actual details of why it's good or why it's bad - legitimate details, not "it's ugly" or "I'm being forced to use it".

Oh, and no one ever said it wasn't a lot of people.  It's not EVERYONE and it's not even MOST users.

No. Its literally the opposite of a "coordinated campaign." It is real users, upset over losing Samsung messages. Individually making their dissatisfaction heard.

You. You said it "wasn't a lot of people" when you said they were only "a handful of disgruntled users."
A small handful of disgruntled users would not have moved the ratings down out of over 40 million.

Just because a bunch of c ryb abies are losing access to an app they happen to like is no reason to give fake reviews to the *recommended, not forced* app, that they did not even give half a chance.  Most of you all just decided if you can't have Samsung Messages you are going to hate everything else.  It is, in fact, a coordinated negative review campaign.  I see posts all over the place for people to head over to Google and give the app 1 star reviews in the Play store.  Don't tell me it's not a coordinated effort.

This app, samsungmembers, removes posts that are against the transition. My post had 600 views then removed. Several other users commented alerting me ahead of time that it will be removed because theirs were removed too. So yours will be soon too.

So there are a lot more than a "handful" of users upset about this, you are just not allowed to see

You're joking. There are literally dozens of posts on the subject. They remove duplicate posts and posts that violate the site rules. Others they have may have been combined into other posts because, really, who needs many posts saying essentally the same thing because somehow people think that somehow it's a stronger statement to have lots of individual posts rather than be a voice in a mega thread, or they think their voice is too important to be buried in someone else's thread. If your post had a link to a petition, it was removed. Views isn't the same as comments. Those who watned you had their posts removed because they contained comments that were rude and insulting to people who disagreed with them, incited a campaign to either mass spam this forum or mass downgrade app reviews in the Play store. Besides, the moderators can remove any posts they want at their discretion.

I, for one, am thoroughly amused that grown people are melting down over a piece of software that s company that owns it has decided to discontinue.

In any case, the amount of users having a fit on various platforms is I still a relative handful compared to the number of U.S. users overall.
