Go to Settings > Connections > Data usage, turn mobile data on, click Data Saver, make sure it's turned on, click on "Allow app while data saver on " and make sure messages is turned on
I also took the opportunity to turn a bunch of things off.
Hope this helps...it fixed it for me.

Same problem here. I thought it was me but I see now that it is not. The only thing it will send MMS messages on is the app it came with. I thought this was supposed to be a great phone. Well if I cannot use the messaging app I want to it is not great.

Our company is thinking of switching to Samsung (Andriod) as their staff phones, mine is the trial piece....
A brand new S8 and everytime I need to send MMS I have to turn data on = costly :-( and not office friendly.
Booking marking this thread in the hope Samsung gets this issue repaired.

Multimedia message port = 80
APN type = defult,mms,supl,fota,hipri
Device = S8+ Sprint, unlocked using AT&T service
