my phone had faced a nasty drop which resulted in shattering the screen and bending the frame
luckily other components were functional
or so i thought
after a screen replacement the phone was functional but the camera app was closing immediately
and the iris scanner was not functioning with a message to restart the phone
the flashlight message was that the flash is being used in another app
so i checked it in test mode *#0*#
the cameras were displaying a message "the number of camera is 0"
iris scanner message was "$Change: 15177986 $$Revision: #2 $" with black where iris scanner was supposed to be displayed
i replaced the cameras and iris scanner with known good and still the same issue
