Find my mobile if S8 turned off

Hello,

According to this article from komando.com, it is possible to find your Sansung S8 EVEN IF TURNED OFF using the latest update to Find my mobile.  I don't see the option to enable "offline finding" discussed in the article.

thats because it cannot be done. when phone is off it isnt connected to any network at all. if it were possible the gps locator would have to run autonomous of the rest of the phone. currently that is unlawfull.

samsung pushed that option to some devices since September, I think but you had to enable the offline find option when you get the push notification. If you didn't enable it when prompted or dismissed it, then you didn't opt in to offline finder. Try logging on to you samsung account on a computer, access registered devices and see if that option exist.
