I use my phone without any lock screen. I updated my phone, rebooted and now I cannot access my phone at all. My phone got locked by a PIN number that I never set myself.
I am visiting Korea for a few weeks for my work and I cannot factory reset (only solution proposed by Samsung engineers here) my phone because my phone has all the work-related data.
I did everything I could do, contacted my carrier back in the US and Korea, visited the Samsung Service center 3 times here, called both US and Korea Samsung. I tried find my mobile to unlock and had no luck - it gave me "Something went wrong" error message. I left an inquiry to Korean Samsung support email and their answer was for me to contact US Samsung as they can only do things to "Korean products" - well, my phone was manufactured in Korea. They asked me to contact support in the US and you know what's funny? You can only access the support website based on your location.
This page is not available in your location. Please visit us here. (and it led me to choose my location again to Korea)
I got this error message. Did they expect me to use a VPN to just leave an inquiry?
Apparently, this is an ongoing issue for more than a year and Samsung only suggests FACTORY RESET". Very irresponsible answer from a company size like Samsung. What kind of developers release software updates that can jeopardize users' data? Samsung has been notified about this problem since last year and they have not taken any action?
Below are a few of the posts that are related to the same issue. Samsung should release an official announcement regarding this bug and compensate users for their lost data. If I need to bring my phone to a data recovery specialist, I am asking Samsung to pay for it.

Anyone who had a solution to this other than factory reset? Samsung is really disgusting to just ignore this problem as if it is nothing and blame users for not having "cloud backup". US Samsung asked me to go to a service center here in Korea, Korea Samsung asked me to redirect my concern to US Samsung. Are they playing ping pong or what? I really need to unlock my phone and start my work. Please share anything you have.

I have looked into many soluton videos and all directed me to either factory reset it or try find my mobile. Can you help me with finding the right video? I even asked Samsung Service Center enigneers if they could apply other updates via ADB or SD card and they just straight up told me no.

If you meant hard reset. That is what I am trying to avoid. Soft reset did not work.

Hi, thank you so much for finding these. I am still waiting for Samsung's final say on this issue, but these will for sure help many others who are experiencing the same problem. I really appreciate it.
