MMS in Facebook Messenger

Hello!

I am able to send and receive SMS and receive MMS but I cannot send MMS in Facebook messenger when I am connected to Wi-Fi. I have tried tampering with many settings like Wi-Fi calling and mobile data always on and various other things but nothing seems to be working.

I am running a Samsung Galaxy S8 with Android 9 on Verizon. 

I have scoured many online forums and it seems this issue is pretty widespread, but not universal, with third party apps on Android. 

Is there a way I can fix this?

Not sure if the above message was a mistake of some kind but is anyone else experiencing this? Maybe even with a different app like Textra or Handcent?
