Moving contacts from phone to SIM card

Hello Samsung Community,

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S8, model SM-G950U. I would like to move my contacts from my phone to my SIM card.

However, if I get a new SIM card, how can I move my contacts back to my phone?

Thanks.

Re: Moving contacts from phone to SIM card

Thank you for reaching out. Do you have a Google account synced to your device?

I do, but is there any other way to move it?

I do, however, I would like to know the information about transferring contacts between my phone and my SIM card.

You are able to sync contacts to your SIM card however there is usually a small limit of the number of contacts a SIM card can hold. You can sync them to either the phone or another account. We recommend another account such as a Google account as it allows for you to transfer contacts from phone to phone by logging into your Google account upon set up. You also have the option of syncing your contacts into your Samsung Cloud if you have that feature set up on your device.

Hi Adam,

Thank you for your reply. What is the limit of contacts that can be stored on the SIM?

Thanks.

We can't speculate on the number of contacts your specific SIM card can hold. I would recommend reaching out to your carrier for further information.
