On safe mode the same messge comes on. This IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STRESSFULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. I hate updates.
I'm having this same issue on a note 8. I have actually did a factory reset, booted into safe mode and still it says an error.

I have no problem signing into my account. When I go to *#0*#, and scroll down to the finger print sensor it says "null". My sensor still is not working :*(
Can you please verify your full model number and baseband version?
